Our Beliefs

At River City Church, our beliefs are rooted in God's Word and centered on Jesus Christ. The following statement of faith summarizes the biblical convictions that guide our teaching, worship, and mission as a church family.

We are a Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church committed to proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples in Waco and beyond.

The Bible

We are founded upon the belief that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.

 

Our Mission

 

We believe in the great commission and are endeavoring to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy and compassion

 

God

 

We believe there is only one God. He is the creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Spirit (indwelling Spirit).

Salvation & Baptism

 

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin.  Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ

We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues.

Spiritual Gifts

 

We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps and government.

The Church

 

We believe the church has been called out of the world to be a group of people who follow Jesus Christ. These Christ followers, through the power of the Holy Spirit, will affect genuine spiritual change in their communities. As the body of Christ on earth, this offers hope to humanity. The church is one group of people made up of many members, diverse in their gifts and callings.
